Professional Counselling in the UK

The stigma attached to counselling has diminished as more people recognise the benefit of actually being listened to without judgement, pressure or given advice.
A Good Rule of Thumb at Jigsaw is that we remember;
"Listen is an anagram of Silent"
Most people have all the necessary abilities to solve their problems and face their difficulties. However, sometimes people get stuck and need some assistance to recognise this.
A counsellor does not provide the solution nor give you answers, however they do provide a secure, caring environment to enable you to talk through you concerns. This leaves the way open for you to allow assistance in reaching your own solutions and ways forward. You can learn your strengths and be encouraged to use them to reach satisfactory solutions to problems, and in doing so, recognise how to achieve personal realistic goals.
Whilst Sue Daniels carries out 75% of all work at Jigsaw, we do hold in reserve, a bank of like-minded professionals who are regularly brought in to assist with our ever-increasing client work base. These professionals work with issues such as children and young adults, couple work & family mediation processes, addiction and clinical hypnotherapy practitioners, together with other professionals who are able to provide cover for a wider geographic range of need. All of those working for Jigsaw are committed to continued professional development in all areas of service delivery.
Having been in the counselling arena for well over a decade, Sue's specialist areasof work include: Working with families after sudden death such as road traffic accidents, murder, suicide and equally with victims of crime, for instance: rape, sexual violence and/or adult survivors of childhood rape and/or sexual abuse, personal injury, personal assault, mugging, armed assault and any situation where an individual or group of people have suffered any kind of trauma.

Additionally Sue has years of experience in many other areas of professional general counselling such as:

It is crucial for the safeguarding of clients when working with emotional issues that professional counsellors have the correct training and continued professional development, which conveys credibility and accountability.
